Expectation from companies
Any employing company that is willing to establish a partnership with our institute in the framework of the traineeship program should have appropriate resources or procedures to provide an environment that can deliver quality, formal and on-the-job training. The company is expected :
To make a working place available to the student, including a desk, a computer and a telephone. Business placements cannot be done from the student's home address. Although the student should not be seen as a worker, we expect him/her to commit him/herself to work on the assignments at the regular full time working hours of the personnel of the company in general;
To appoint a company counsellor who evaluates the student's performance by filling in the evaluation form
The company counsellor should make arrangements for regular meetings with the student, once or twice a week to discuss the progress of the assignments, and to discuss problems and questions that might come up. Of course, a student must be able to do the work for the assignments his/herself, but he/she still needs some looking after, every now and then.
To determine the days off for the student. A working week consists of 38 or 40 hours and the student receives approximately 1 or 2 free days within a month. (The student will usually work during the normal working hours and days of the placement-offering company)
To determine what kind of compensation the student receives for his or her efforts. This can be translates as follows:
An allowance per month
And/or
Provide a contribution to the refund of travelling or rental expenses
To appoint all the agreements between a company and the student in a contract
